Chery promotes local manufacturing with SKD production

Chery has restated its commitment to the production of semi-knocked down (SKD) parts in various African countries to improve local manufacturing, while bringing employment opportunities to help Africa’s economic development.

Africa is Chery’s strategic layout market and has entered 15 countries. Chery has an assembly plant of completely-knocked down (CKD) in Egypt, and established a wholly owned subsidiary in South Africa.

In a statement made available to The Guardian by Senior Sales Manager, Chery Overseas Investment Corp., Jason Han, he said in the African region, Chery continued to carry out a series of sports marketing activities in Chile, Ecuador, Brazil, Russia, Argentina, Costa Rica and other places that love football.

He said with the dual help of sports marketing and brand internationalisation, Chery had achieved counter-trend growth in the cold winter of the automobile market.

Till date, Chery has ranked first in the export of Chinese brand passenger cars for 19 consecutive years, with global users exceeding 10 million and winning the trust of users in more than 80 countries and regions.

He said during the Africa Cup of Nations, Chery carried out a series of football-related activities on social media platforms in various African countries, actively encouraged fans to participate in the activities, and prepared exquisite gifts for fans.
